This serene park has terraces of plants and dramatic rock sculptures, creating almost an ampitheater-like experience. The park is close enough to skyscrapers that you can feel like you're really in the middle of the city if you face them. If you face away, it's like you're in a big garden in a quiet neighborhood. It's just a nice place to sit or walk through. There isn't a playground here but there are some within a 10-minute walk: Roberto Clemente Playground, Von Colln Playground, Winter Street Greenway, Sister Cities Park. There isn't a restroom here, but the nearest public one is in the library. A 24-hour option is the Sheraton hotel nearby — the ground floor and two conference floors above all have restrooms.

As terrible as it may sound to the park’s enthusiasts, the central and main part for me feels like a neglected wasteland. This impression is created by the cascading plants, unclear separation of planting levels when viewed at eye level, the stones, and the landscape design that lacks a fountain or pond. Yes, there are some interesting trees with plaques, but that’s about it.

Cute pocket park near my office. Plenty of benches and shade. Clean and beautifully landscaped.

Discovered this hidden gem doing a Love your Park scavenger hunt. It offers sweeping views of the Philly skyline, and is a short walk from CCP and the Art Museum area. I would bring out of town visitors here for the view and history. There are terraced gardens with stone sculptures folded into the landscape. It is dog-friendly and has a shady area with benches for relaxing. The park turns 30 in 2021.

This park is a little oasis with beautiful gardens, unique sculptures, and a view of the city skyline. It’s my favorite spot for a quiet afternoon picnic.

A great nature oasis within the city. I love this park, it is only a few blocks from where I work and it offers a touch of nature. There are benches to relax on, a path that goes around the park and separated off into little paths to the the streets, and plenty of plants, flowers, and rock structures to gaze upon. The area is clean, and people mind themselves as they enjoy the area. I offer the view from one of the installed benches in my photograph.
