Does anyone remember the field along Champlost used to be real marshy back in the 70s-80s and would ice over during the winter? If anyone has pix of that frozen ice field please post them here!

In 1952, 1953, 1954 my home was Fisher Park. (I lived at 5936 N. 7th St. as a three, four, five years old.) But every day---with even TV too young---I was in the park and the heaven My mother spoke of was simply...Fisher Park. I play with sticks and leaves and ran up and down paths and wouldn't go up to the railroad tracks (promised mom) and waited for mom's call. Seventy years ago...

Park was well maintained in the early days up until the early 2000's, I grew up in the 70's and it was such a beautiful park then. We had concerts in the park, Films, School Outings, picnics and a beautiful Playground, some hiking into the woods. I visited it a few years ago and couldn't believe how unmaintained it is now. It's sad a new generation of folks move in and do not take care of the park.
