Friends of carpenter Woods is an organisation that cares for the woods in the Philadelphia Wissahickon Northwest area, which is known as of West Mount Airy. Carpenter Woods is a tip of the Wissahickon that sits in the West Mount Airy neighborhood. It is well known for a migrating bird sanctuary. It is also well known for the local dog Gatherings that go on there. It's a safe Park to bring your children your dogs to go for a nice hike. There are a few loops.. there is a 10-minute loop, an 1/2 hr loop and a 40-minute Loop. There is a nice creek that flows along the lower Trail which is a favorite for young children and dogs. The park is very well maintained and clean and is respected for the bird migration. Dog walkers will keep dogs on Trails only. You will find dogs off leash in this park.
