We did a behind the seen adventure to feed the Red Pandas. I was very happy with the experience and the education of Red Pandas. We went to the zoo on a Sunday fortunately for us it was far less crowded. Purchase the tickets online to get in much more quality. Overall, wonderful zoo staff are friendly and helpful! The animals are all well taken care of! I loved all the holiday decorations!

We've been to the zoo on regular occasions, but we went 12/28/24 for the LumiNature lights and it was beautiful! We bought our tickets online, no wait. Totally worth it! It was absolutely beautiful. Also don't forget to make your donation to the zoo for bringing you these wonderful memories during the holidays!

Went there in the off season and there was still a lot to see. Not too big of a zoo, so it's easy to see everything in one visit. There is a nice array of animals here, along with farm animals like sheep and goats that you can hang out with and pet. The reptile/amphibian building was great fun to walk through!

We visited the zoos with our two families of kids aged 2, 3, and 4. We paid extra for opportunity to feed the hippos that the kids observed as they were too young. We watched tigers, primates, lions, and rhinos, and more. The Rainforest Carousel charges a small fee for this historic first wooden carousel in the US. The children's playground is worth the price of admission. My only concern is that it was challenging to keep track of the kids running, jumping, and sliding. We took our own picnic lunch and augmented with some beverages from the place near the cute train, and enjoyed the shaded picnic area.
We spent a great day and did not see nearly all the 1700 animals here. The Zoo offers a host of seasonal events, camps, and experiences for an additional fee, like our hippo experience. No matter how much we felt we had experienced it all, there is so much more to see, do, and experience.

Was very disappointed as the zoo closed early without any warning at the gate so we only got to see about half. Regardless, we saw mother and baby boy orangutan which was worth the price of admission. It was winter so a few exhibits were closed as expected. They had a pretty wide range of reptiles and amphibians and a good sized tiger and pair of lions. Wish I could have seen more.

The Philadelphia Zoo is the oldest zoo in the United States, founded in 1874, and remains one of the top attractions in Philadelphia. Home to over 1,900 animals, it provides a unique and engaging experience for visitors of all ages while emphasizing conservation, education, and wildlife preservation.
One of the zoo’s most innovative features is Zoo360, an overhead trail system that allows animals like big cats, primates, and red pandas to roam above visitors, creating a more natural and enriching environment for them. The Big Cat Falls exhibit offers up-close views of lions, tigers, and leopards, while the PECO Primate Reserve showcases gorillas, orangutans, and other primates in a carefully designed habitat.
The KidZooU children’s zoo is an interactive space where young visitors can learn about animals through hands-on activities and close encounters with farm animals. The zoo also participates in global conservation efforts, helping protect endangered species and educate the public on wildlife preservation.
With beautifully landscaped grounds, engaging exhibits, and a commitment to animal welfare, the Philadelphia Zoo offers an unforgettable experience. Whether you’re visiting with family or exploring solo, it’s a must-visit destination for anyone interested in wildlife, education, and conservation.
