We absolutely love Ham + Bone! We’ve been bringing our girls here for regular grooming, and every visit has been a great experience. It’s clear that the team genuinely cares—our pups are treated with so much love, and the attention to detail in their grooming really shows. Amy always does an incredible job; I’m consistently impressed by how thoroughly she de-sheds and how fresh and clean their coats look afterward. Grooming can sometimes be stressful, but our girls always come back happy, relaxed, and excited. Plus, the adorable bandannas they leave with are such a fun bonus! :)

Had a really frustrating experience here. We had a 9:45 appointment and arrived early at 9:32, but the store was completely closed. We waited outside and in the car, and called and texted multiple times around 9:37 and again at 9:48 with no response. No sign on the door, no communication just locked out waiting. The employee cutting hair did not arrive until about 9:52 and locked the door behind her. A second staff member (the cashier) showed up around 9:57, and she was actually great friendly and helpful once we got inside. However, the first thing we were told by the groomer was, “You know your appointment was at 9:45,” which was pretty shocking considering we had been there well before that while they were not even open. When I explained that we had been there since 9:30 and tried contacting them, the response was dismissive they said we should have called or texted, even though we already had. They also mentioned using an “app,” which does not appear to exist or be accessible to customers. On top of that, they asked for vaccine information that was already on file and physically on the dog’s collar, which Ijust added to the feeling that things were disorganized. We understand that things happen traffic, delays, rough mornings but the first interaction with a customer should not be to question them about being late when they have been waiting outside. Even if the groomer was having a tough morning, it is not a great look to take that frustration out on a customer who showed up early and communicated as best as possible. If employees have access to an app or system that customers cannot use, then the responsibility should be on the business to communicate delays proactively. The policy should be to notify customers when running behind, not expect customers to repeatedly text or call asking where the business is. Overall, the lack of accountability, poor communication, and rude tone from the groomer made for a really negative experience. If there had been even a simple apology or acknowledgment of the delay, it would have gone a long way, but instead it felt like the blame was shifted onto us. Definitely disappointing and not the level of service you would expect when you book an appointment in advance. I never ever leave reviews, but this experience felt worth sharing.

We have been taking our dog to Sam at the Fishtown location regularly for grooms since 2020 and she is always amazing. All of the staff and the owner are friendly and helpful. Crumb is nervous about being groomed but they are so wonderful at Ham + Bone I don’t feel like I have to worry about her. The owner is also very supportive to our foster activities and has generously donated or discounted grooms for our especially crusty foster dogs to help them get adoption ready. I can’t recommend them enough!

Jayla did the most excellent job on our little sonshine!🥰 Tyson does not enjoy much grooming other than brushing and Jayla was able to take care of more difficult areas (such as his nails, hair around his tail and eyes) with little issue and no extra handling fees. He gets anxious during these experiences but Jayla was kind, gentle and gave us the exact haircut we wanted! Pictures include his shaggy look from before, he hadn’t had a professional cut in many years prior to this.

This was our first time at Ham + Bone Fishtown but I think we’ve found our spot! Jayla did such an amazing job with Samson and checked in with me throughout his time there which was greatly appreciated. When I picked him up I could tell that he was very comfortable. I took him to another place in fishtown and he seemed terrified which is why I haven’t returned. Thanks to the Ham + Bone fishtown l team for taking such good care of our Sammy! He also loves his new toy! 🐾🧸🖤

I took my 1 1/2 year old Yorkie to Ham + Bone to get groomed for the first time. Although he is a difficult pup to be handled, they did a fabulous job! His sanitary areas were cut and cleaned well. His face was shaped like a teddy bear like we asked. I was surprised at the length of his body — it was cut very short, but nevertheless it was probably what the groomer thought was best. It’s definitely on the higher price side, with an extra handling fee added on, but worth it if you want a high quality cut and experience. I want to thank Tyera (the groomer) and Ham+Bone, I will be returning :)
