Casey is a fantastic dog trainer. She was recommended to me by a mutual between us when the service dog trainer I was utilizing left me fairly high and dry with a 6/7 m/o Doberman puppy. I was completely new to everything service dog (not training or animals, but SD stuff was completely new) and navigating the grief associated with my disability. Casey encouraged me to train tasks that my previous trainer hadn’t even mentioned and helped me navigate my internal ableism with task selection and service dog usage. Casey approaches service dog training and all of her training like you would expect someone with a history in social work to, looking at the whole picture. It’s not just about helping clients train their dog, she looks at all factors. Environmental factors, emotional factors, access issues, resource issues, limitations due to sensory issues, trauma etc., and limitations due to the past or your support system that can affect the ability to train or create obstacles to training in a certain way. She then will work with you to make (and adjust as needed) an individualized training plan that is accessible to the needs of the dog AND the client. Creatively problem solving, accepting the client where they are at, making jokes along the way and caring so much about her clients are just a few highlights of why Casey is wonderful. I’ve worked with Casey, the owner, during the pandemic with my pup, Pepper. Peppy is a rescue and when we started working with Casey, she was not leash trained and didn’t know a lot of her basics or manners. Casey was an absolute genius and got Peppy to become a well behaved dog. She still gets jumpy when she meets new people, but not nearly as much as she used to. Peppy even passed her CGC thanks to Casey. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately my service animal and I had to stop training with Casey after a traumatic anti-black experience. This experience lead to a loss of community for myself and my service animal. I have since been blocked on all social media by Casey after publicly sharing my personal experience. I am finding my way through the healing journey and I am grateful to have found a practice that aligns with the needs and desires of my service animal and myself. I will say that if you are a black disabled trans service animal handler I personally recommend seeking other guidance in your training. It is a journey that should be cultivated safely for both you and your SA, always.I leave this review so folks who choose to train with Casey are able to make an informed decision. Update: Though Casey blocked me from their business socials once i shared my traumatic experience with them, they have proceeded to follow me from their personal instagram page. this is emotional abuse and manipulative/stalker behavior. I have reported Casey. Please leave me alone!

Casey has helped me sooo much with my dogs. She also has helped me with my own anxieties that I have with my dogs and their training.
