One of our favorite strolling and dog-walking spots at the Navy Yard. The central green is bordered by native plants. In summer 2022, Group X installed a new outdoor permanent sculpture called Alpha Sacred Beings. It's a life-size, beaded Parasaurolophus, created in an artistic partnershp with the Lenni-Lenape Tribal nation. The dinosaur's hips are circled in a wampum belt. Beautifully detailed.

Good spot for fishing, walking the dog or taking a brisk walk yourself. Nice view of the Delaware River and bird-watching location.

Not sure how to rate this because I was here after completing the Broad Street run. So, I suppose it's a nice area to have an event or a picnic. Just note that you must come by car or take the subway. Not a good area to navigate via bicycle unless you're coming from West Philly, then it might be easier.

There is something spiritual about being near water with its sense of stillness and natural ability to reflect light at different times of the day, especially sunset. This place offers tranquility, opportunities to jog, walk or simply stroll and enjoy those thoughtful melancholy moments. The occasional startling roar of low flying overhead planes excites little children and disturbingly reminds us of noise pollution in the twenty first century. Fisherfolks and birdwatchers also appreciate this ideal setting within the city to enjoy their hobbies.
